Trains cancelled, frequency of many reduced due to fog

JALANDHAR: As many as 19 passenger trains running from Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Ferozepur and Pathankot as well four express trains bound to destinations in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar remained cancelled today due to adverse weather conditions.

As many as 19 passenger trains running from Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Ferozepur and Pathankot as well four express trains bound to destinations in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar remained cancelled today due to adverse weather conditions.

Many other long-route trains are running behind the schedule, much to the inconvenience of passengers.

As per information from the railway authorities, Jaynagar-Amritsar Shaheed Express (14673) would remain cancelled for a majority of the days between December 15 to February 18.

Some of the passenger trains that remained off the track today causing inconvenience to daily passengers include Jalandhar City-Hoshiarpur (74912), Hoshiarpur to Jalandhar (74911), Jalandhar to Amritsar (74641), Amritsar to Jalandhar (74642), Fazilka to Kot Kapura (74984), Amritsar to Pathankot (74675), Jalandhar to Ferozepur (74938), Ferozepur to Ludhiana (54052).

Other express trains that remained cancelled for the day were Jammu-Bathinda Express (14502) Amritsar-Chandigarh Intercity Express (12242), Lal Kuan-Amritsar-Lal Kuan Express (14615/16), Jaynagar-Amritsar Shaheed Express (14673/74), Saharsa-Amritsar Jansewa Express (15209/10), and Ajmer-Amritsar-Ajmer Express (19613/14 and 19611/12).

The trains whose frequency has been reduced are Dhanbad-Firozepur-Dhanbad Ganga Sutlej Express (13307/08) (daily) by one day, Darbhanga-Amritsar-Darbhanga Jannayak Express (15211/12) (daily) by one day, Jammu Tawi-Howrah Himgiri Express (12332) (thrice a week), cancelled on December 20 and 27, Howrah-Amritsar Mail (13005) (daily), cancelled on December 17, 24 and 31, (13152) Jammu Tawi-Kolkata Sealdah Express (daily), cancelled on December 21 and 29 (13050) Amritsar-Howrah Express (daily), cancelled on December 20 and 27.

Trains which are running late include Howrah-Jammu Tavi Express (12331) by eight hours, Tatanagar-Jammu Tavi Muri Express (18101) and Saharsa-Amritsar Jansewa Express (15209) by 3 to 5 hours. Kathiar- Amritsar Amarpali Express (15707), Indore-Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Malwa Express (12919) and Kolkata-Amritsar Akaltakht Express (12317) are reportedly running late by 2 to 3 hours.
