Trisha, Rishampreet CBSE Class XII dist toppers, Adaa tops Class X with 99.8%
Jalandhar students delivered outstanding performances in the CBSE examinations this year, with multiple students emerging as toppers through sheer determination, consistent self-study and effective time management.
In the CBSE Class XII examinations, Trisha Arora of Innocent Hearts School, Loharan branch, and Rishampreet Kaur of Police DAV Public School, PAP Campus, secured the highest marks in the district by scoring 99 per cent each in the humanities stream. The two toppers attributed their success to structured planning and self-discipline.
Trisha, daughter of Harpreet Kumar, who works in the Army Telephone Exchange, said she had never taken private tuitions since Class IV and relied solely on self-study. “I believe in consistent effort throughout the year and not stressing about marks. I’ve always been regular with my studies and maintained a balance, even while being active on social media,” she said. Trisha plans to pursue Journalism and Mass Communication and also prepare for the civil services examinations.
Rishampreet, daughter of government school teacher Iqbal Singh, credited her success to a target-based approach to studying. “Instead of sticking to a rigid timetable, I created personal deadline for each chapter and focused on concept clarity,” she said. Rishampreet, too, followed a no-tuition policy and remained focused throughout the academic year. She aspires to study psychology and build a career in the field.
The second position in the district was shared by Rupinder Kaur of MD Dayanand Model School, Nakodar, and Yojit Verma of Innocent Hearts School, Green Model Town branch. Both students scored 98.6 per cent marks in the commerce stream. While Rupinder said she kept distractions at bay and followed a strict study routine, Yojit credited his achievement to time management, consistent revision and the guidance of his teachers. Both expressed deep gratitude to their families and mentors for their constant support.
In the CBSE Class X results, Adaa Puri of MGN Public School, Urban Estate, Phase II, here emerged as the district topper with an outstanding score of 99.8 per cent. She has also been recognised among the state’s top scorers. Daughter of realtor Sameer Kumar Puri, Adaa has chosen the commerce stream for Class XI and aims to become an accountant in the future.
Speaking about her success mantra, Adaa said, “I made sure my studies were well-organised and focused. I studied for about three to four hours daily during the year, but as the exams neared, I revised my schedule and began studying up to 10 hours a day.”
Apart from academics, Adaa is passionate about public speaking and has won multiple prizes in debates, extempore and speech contests.
MGN Public School Principal Rajwinder Pal praised Adaa’s achievement, calling it a reflection of her hard work and self-confidence. “Her success is also a testament to the efforts of our teachers in nurturing and guiding every student to reach their full potential,” she said.
The second position in Class X was secured by Guneet Kaur of Sant Swami Dass Public School, who scored 99.6 per cent. The third position was jointly held by Shreya of Seth Hukam Chand SD Public Senior Secondary School, Sangal Sohal-Variana branch, and Harleen Kaur of CJS Public School, both scoring 99.2 per cent.
The Class X toppers emphasised that maintaining a proper schedule and relying on self-study were the key contributors to their high scores. “It’s not just about how long you study, but how effectively you manage your time and stay consistent throughout the year”, they added.
