Two-month special workshop on measles, rubella

The Jalandhar-based Chanan Association for MR Children held a special two-month workshop for children aged over 16 under disability activist Amarjit Singh Anand.

The master trainer, Poonam Lal Chaudhary, from Parivar (national organisation) apprised their parents of their rights, way to be independent, responsibility, right to equality on the society etc other issues.

The General Secretary for the organisation Manish Aggarwal said over 20 self advocates and 30 parents participated in the workshop.

In the various activities of the workshop, self advocates were inspired to work for themselves and earlier, as compared to their parents.

Aggarwal also said like other people they should also be aware of their responsibility, even though it’s a slow process it should be made possible with the cooperation of parents.
