Unable to break ATM, thieves decamp with CCTVs

Hoshiarpur, November 10

On the intervening night of Friday and Saturday, unknown thieves tried to break open an ATM of Punjab National Bank near Jail Chowk here. However, after failing in their attempt, they decamped with CCTV cameras installed in the ATM.

The incident came to light in the morning when a security guard came to the duty. When the guard reached the spot this morning, he found that the ATM was damaged by somebody.

The guard informed the higher authorities and the police. After examining the ATM, bank officials, who had also reached the spot later, confirmed that the accused could not succeed in breaking the ATM. The ATM and the cache were safe. The police have started investigation in this regard. — OC
