Jalandhar, November 18

A day after their “illegal” kiosks were demolished at Tikki Wala Chowk in Rainak Bazaar, vendors on Monday initiated their protest at the site.

Sitting around the debris of their demolished kiosks, the vendors put up a banner lodging their protest against the Municipal Corporation. They also raised slogans against the authorities.

Vendors Davinder Singh and Anil said, “The authorities have put an end to our decades-old livelihood. We are 18 persons and all of a sudden, we are on roads. We have had a hand-to-mouth existence. We do not know how we will fend for our families. We need an alternative site where from we can resume our work. The authorities should do something in tjis regard”
