Voters reposed faith in AAP in rural body polls: Harji Mann

Newly elected Block Samiti members were presented with their election certificates at the office of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Phagwara on Friday, marking a formal completion of the electoral process. The certificates were distributed by SDM Jasanjit Singh in the presence of senior leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

AAP State Spokesperson and Phagwara Assembly constituency in-charge Harnur Singh “Harji” Mann, who attended the event as a special guest, congratulated the nine newly elected Block Samiti members of the party. He urged them to work with dedication to fulfil the commitments made to the people and to ensure transparent and inclusive development at the village level.

Addressing the gathering, Harji Mann said that the results of the Block Samiti and Zila Parishad elections across Punjab, including Phagwara, reflect continued public support for Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the AAP-led state government. He stated that the verdict demonstrates public confidence in the government’s policies and governance. Emphasising grassroots development, he assured the newly elected members that their role in village-level development would be given due importance and that no effort would be spared to strengthen infrastructure and basic civic facilities in rural areas. He also remarked that the election results had weakened the narrative of opposition parties and indicated sustained public support for AAP.

Senior AAP leader and Phagwara in-charge of the anti-drug campaign, Daljit Singh Raju Darvesh Pind, also extended his congratulations to the newly elected Block Samiti members during their visit to the SDM office to receive certificates of election. He highlighted that being elected with public trust carries a significant responsibility and called upon the members to live up to the expectations of voters.

Daljit Singh Raju said that Block Samiti play a crucial role in rural development and stressed the need to work honestly and impartially to strengthen essential services such as roads, drinking water supply, education, healthcare, sanitation and employment opportunities.

He underlined the importance of effective implementation of government welfare schemes at the grassroots level, noting that Block Samiti members serve as a vital link between the administration and rural residents. Several party workers, youth wing representatives and supporters were also present on the occasion.
