The three-day shopping and lifestyle exhibition ‘Wakhra Swag’ turned out to be much more than just a shopping destination, bringing together social service organisations, the administration, and the business community on a single platform, fostering a strong sense of togetherness in Hoshiarpur.
Held from December 26 to 28 at City Centre, Hoshiarpur, the event was primarily sponsored by Sonalika, with support from Punjab Tourism and the Hoshiarpur district administration. Families, young people, and social workers visited the exhibition in large numbers.
What made Wakhra Swag truly special was its focus on social work alongside shopping and lifestyle. Sonalika showcased its social responsibility initiative ‘Sanjeevani’, which runs multiple service programmes, including wellness retreats, healing centres, support for children with autism, winter care for the needy, and local community initiatives such as I Love Hoshiarpur. Visitors appreciated learning about these efforts aimed at improving health and supporting those in need.
DC Ashika Jain remarked that Vakhra Swag was not just an exhibition but a platform that connected people. She praised Sonalika’s Sanjeevani initiative, highlighting how industries can play a vital role in serving society. She added that such events provide new energy and direction to social organisations.
