To add to their woes, the residents said that they had also begun facing water shortage as the cuts were getting imposed at time of the water supply owing to which they were not able to store enough water for drinking, kitchen use and other household works. In many areas, the councillors were at receiving ends and they had to arrange for water tankers in residential colonies for ensuring some relief to the agitated people. The residents of Krishna Nagar lodged a massive protest after their demand of inadequate water supply before the MC officials and councillor went unheard. The residents then blocked the main road with bricks, stones and tree branches and raised slogans against the state government and local civic administration after which the MC staff reached the site to check the fault in the water pipelines. Similar problems occurred in the remained parts of Doaba too. Congress leader Nimisha Mehta said she had to press in tanker services in various localities of Garhshankar town as people were reeling under severe shortage of water supply due to long power cuts.
