Woman, daughter stuck in MC lift

These were the tense 10 minutes for Jassi and her minor daughter when they stuck in a lift in the Municipal Corporation building on Tuesday.
The civic body has a footfall of thousands of people on a daily basis and the lift stopped working, leaving Jassi and her daughter trapped inside for 10 minutes.
Jassi, while talking to mediapersons, said she had been coming to the office for the last several days, but her work had not been done yet.
“It is an everyday struggle for me. Today, when I got stuck, I got shocked because I had my daughter with me,” she said.
She was accompanied by her brother who was not in the lift and raised the alarm and informed the technical staff about the matter.
Jassi further said her mother, who is a retired employee of the Municipal Corporation, had been on bed for the last two years.
“Her dues are not being released by the corporation,” she alleged. Jassi further added, “Daily, I go to the third floor, meet officials and come back empty-handed. Nobody is paying heed. This is what a normal person goes through. Kisi di sunvaayi nahee ethe,” an enraged Jassi said.
