JALANDHAR: A woman died and five others were injured after a 108 ambulance collided with an auto-rickshaw late on Thursday night.

jalandhar, August 17

A woman died and five others were injured after a 108 ambulance collided with an auto-rickshaw late on Thursday night.

According to area SHO Heena Gupta, the ambulance was carrying a person suffering from paralytic attack and was in a hurry. The auto-rickshaw coming from the other side could not apply brakes on time and collided head on with the ambulance near Pathankot Chowk.

The auto was carrying three passengers, including a woman. While the woman died on the spot, the other two persons and those sitting in the ambulance too got injured.

However, the patient travelling in the ambulance is out of the danger and is at present under treatment at the local Civil Hospital. The police have sent the body for the post-mortem examination and taken the ambulance driver into custody. — TNS
