Woman kills self, 3 booked

HOSHIARPUR: Irked over a domestic dispute, Ikwinder Kaur (24), wife of Vishambhar Singh, committed suicide by hanging herself with a ceiling fan at her house in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar.

Irked over a domestic dispute, Ikwinder Kaur (24), wife of Vishambhar Singh, committed suicide by hanging herself with a ceiling fan at her house in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar. On the statement of the deceased’s father, the Model Town police have booked three persons—Ikwinder’s husband Vishambhar Singh, brother-in-law Surjit Singh, alias Babbu, and his wife Sukhi.

Ikwinder was married to Vishambhar Singh, a resident Purana Shala in Gurdaspur around three years ago. For the last six months they were staying at a gurudwara in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar of Hoshiarpur.

The deceased father alleged that a few days ago Ikvinder went to his in-laws village in Purana Shala where she had arguments with her brother-in-law and his wife.

After returning from the village, she had heated arguments with her husband on Sunday morning, after which she committed suicide by putting by hanging from the ceiling fan. The police have registered a case against the suspects.
