The police have arrested a youth after allegedly recovering 10 gram heroin from his possession during a patrol operation near Bilga. The accused was identified as Lovpreet Singh, alias Luv, a resident of Vehran village, near Mehatpur.

According to officials, a police party, was present near Mao Sahib village on the road leading to Bilga when they noticed a motorcycle rider moving in suspicious circumstances. The police stopped the rider and conducted a search, during which heroin was allegedly recovered from his possession.

The accused was immediately taken into custody and the contraband was seized by the police. The motorcycle used by the accused was also taken into possession as part of the investigation by the police.

Following recovery, a case was registered under relevant sections of the NDPS Act at the Mehatpur police station. Further investigation into the matter is currently underway.
