11,331 pay obeisance at Amarnath cave shrine

In all, 11,331 pilgrims paid obeisance at the holy cave shrine of Amarnath on the 18th day of the ongoing yatra.

With this, the total number of pilgrims who paid obeisance at the cave has gone up to 1,87,375. The yatra has been going on smoothly and the number of pilgrims paying obeisance at the cave has been on the increase with an improvement in weather conditions.

The yatra had been affected due to bad weather conditions during the first week after the commencement of the pilgrimage on June 28. It had been suspended in the wake of flashfloods and a landslide in the Baltal area during the first week of the month. The movement of pilgrims from Baltal was suspended for three days following the landslide in view of safety of the pilgrims. The yatra has been going on both Pahalgam and Baltal routes.
