224 backdoor appointments cancelled in Rajouri

Assistant Commissioner (Development), Rajouri, Akhter Hussain Qazi has directed all Block Development Officers (BDOs) to submit their action taken report on Saturday as the administration cancelled all 224 backdoor appointments of gram rozgar sevaks, computer operators and technical assistants in Rajouri district.

The administration cancelled these appointments claiming that rules and guidelines were not followed by officials.

The appointments were made in the rural development department reportedly on the recommendations of politicians during the PDP-BJP coalition regime under MGNREGA when Noor Alam was the Assistant Commissioner (Development).

The Superintending Engineer, Rural Engineering Wing, Jammu, had sought details from Qazi on the backdoor appointments made during Noor Alam’s tenure.
