41 bags of ration seized , one held

JAMMU: One person was arrested by the Samba police for trying to sell the government ration in the open market.



Jammu, December 8

One person was arrested by the Samba police for trying to sell the government ration in the open market.

Fortyone bags of the government ration each weighing 50 kg, were seized from a load carrier in the jurisdiction of the Ramghar police station in Samba. Acting on a tip-off, the police intercepted a Mahindra load carrier at Ramloo Rasolian, Ramgarh, which was coming from Nandpur side and during checking of the vehicle, 36 bags of wheat and 6 bags of flour weighing 50 kg were recovered from the vehicle which was being transported for sale on the black market. Ashwani Kumar, a resident of Ranjitpura, Bishnah, has been arrested with the bags and acase has been registered. — TNS
