The Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra was decorated with flowers imported from Britain, Switzerland, South Africa, Sri Lanka and Dubai on the occasion of Navratras. These flowers --- gladiolus, carnations, lilis and anthurium orchids --- will stay fresh for almost 10 days.
Pilgrims visiting the shrine will also be greeted by a gold-plated door adoring the entrance of the 96-foot-long main cave.
Officials of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board said various events have been planned which would attract devotees across the country. Besides, imported flowers, blooms from the film city have also been ordered to enhance the decorations and to create a festive atmosphere.
