In a setback to former chief minister and National Conference president Farooq Abdullah, the trial court has refused to grant him exemption from personal appearance in the multi-crore scam involving the J&K Cricket Association.
Abdullah has been arrayed as an accused in the chargesheet filed by the CBI in the case.
In his orders, the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Srinagar, has directed that the applicant/accused be produced by the counsel for admitting the accused to bail and thereafter his application for exemption from personal appearance would be taken up on the next date of hearing, August 29.
