JU, BOSE postpone exams again

JAMMU: As the situation continues to be tense, the University of Jammu (JU) has postponed all under and postgraduate examinations, Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) (minor examinations) and course work examinations of M Phil and Ph D, which were scheduled to be conducted on February 20 (Wednesday) and 21 (Thursday).

As the situation continues to be tense, the University of Jammu (JU) has postponed all under and postgraduate examinations, Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) (minor examinations) and course work examinations of M Phil and Ph D, which were scheduled to be conducted on February 20 (Wednesday) and 21 (Thursday).

According to JU spokesperson Vinay Thusoo, a fresh date for the postponed examinations would be notified later.

The examinations are being postponed since February 15, in the wake of imposition of curfew here after the Jammu bandh, called to condemn Pulwama terror attack, turned violent.

The practical examinations of Class XII and examinations of all remaining papers of Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) year I and II, which were scheduled to be held on February 20, have also been postponed by the J&K State Board of School Education (JKBOSE). A fresh date for the examinations would be notified later.

Meanwhile, the State Institute of Education (SIE) which had postponed examinations of Class VIII and IX, scheduled to be held on February 18, has decided to continue with the conduct of remaining papers as per the schedule in other districts except Jammu.

JK Sudan, Principal of SIE, told The Tribune that “The postponed examinations of February 18 will be held after the conduct of remaining papers”.

The examination of classes VIII and IX is being conducted by the District Institutes of Education and Trainings (DIETs) in their respective districts, under the overall supervision of SIE. As per the date-sheet, the examinations would conclude on March 7.
