Srinagar, July 15
Separatist leader Yasin Malik was detained on Sunday when he was returning to Srinagar from south Kashmir, where he had gone to meet the families of civilians who were killed in recent weeks.
Malik, along with his two associates, was detained in Anantnag district and lodged at Sangam police station, his party Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) said in a statement. It said the party “condemns this arrest”.
He was released on Saturday after remaining in police custody for 10 days following his detention on July 5. —TNS
