Cellphone connectivity in the Kashmir valley may be restored on or immediately after September 27, the day Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pakistan premier Imran Khan are to address the UN General Assembly in New York, say highly-placed sources.

“Mobile phones will start functioning from next week but Internet services will remain suspended till the situation improves further,” sources said. Mobile phone and Internet services were suspended in Kashmir on August 4 midnight, hours before Article 370 was scrapped.
