Secretary, Information Technology, Saugat Biswas said 1,02,11,893 Aadhaar enrolments had been generated in the state so far. This is 82 per cent of the total population.

A government spokesman said the deadline of August 31 had been set for the Indian Postal Department to set up 35 more enrolment centres in various post offices of the state, which would give “further push to the Aadhaar enrolment”. During the past month, the postal department had made 52 such centres operational in the state.
Biswas also urged the State Level Bankers’ Committee to open additional enrolment centres in Shopian, Kargil and Leh districts.
“To fast track operationalisation of Aadhaar enrolment centres, Biswas asked the State Project Director, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), to prepare a roster for enrolment in designated schools and send operators to schools whenever required,” the government spokesman said.
There are 110 portable enrolment facilities with ICDS, 52 enrolment centres with post offices, 50 centres with the SSA and 130 enrolment centres in various banks which are currently performing Aadhaar enrolment in the state in addition to arrangements made by the state government.
