Pedestrian killed in mishap

KATHUA: A pedestrian was killed after being hit by an unknown vehicle near the Hatli morh on the Jammu-Pathankot national highway on Thursday.

A pedestrian was killed after being hit by an unknown vehicle near the Hatli morh on the Jammu-Pathankot national highway on Thursday.

The victim has been identified as Jagdish Raj of Govindsar village in Kathua.

The body was handed over to the family for last rites after the completion of legal formalities at the District Hospital.

The Kathua police traced the vehicle and arrested the accused driver within an hour. He has been identified as Vinod Kumar of Thathi, Udhampur. A case has been registered against him.
