Rs 2 lakh looted from filling station staff

JAMMU: Three robbers looted Rs 2 lakh from employees of a filling station on the Jammu-Pathankot national highway in Samba district on Monday.

Three robbers looted Rs 2 lakh from employees of a filling station on the Jammu-Pathankot national highway in Samba district on Monday.

The police said three persons came in an SUV, bearing the registration number of Ludhiana, and looted employees of Balwinder Filling Station near Dayani on the national highway at gunpoint.

“We have taken cognisance of the matter and the case will be solved soon,” said Kousal Sharma, SSP, Samba.

“As per initial investigations, three men came in an SUV and looted the employees of the filling station at around 9 pm. We have traced the vehicle, but it has to be verified if they were using the original registration plate,” he added.

The police have recorded the statements of the employees of the filling station and started a manhunt. A case has been registered in this regard.
