Shooting of first Dogri film begins

JAMMU: After the Central Government took the decision of scrapping provisions of Article 370 and reorganising Jammu & Kashmir as the Union Territory on August 5 this year, a first full-length Dogri language feature film titled “Mouj Masti” has begun shooting in the new UT.

After the Central Government took the decision of scrapping provisions of Article 370 and reorganising Jammu & Kashmir as the Union Territory on August 5 this year, a first full-length Dogri language feature film titled “Mouj Masti” has begun shooting in the new UT.

The film written by Rajeshwar Singh Raju is a comedy based on drug abuse among the youth. Heeramani Singh, who is known for film making and production and has done Deepti Naval starrer film called 19th January as the chief assistant director is directing the film. Sapna Soni, the senior film and stage actor is playing the main lead in the film, the shooting of which will be done in the Jammu region with the motive of tapping local talent and promoting the local language and region. Heeramani said, “Culture of J&K is unique and it should be presented to the world through cinema, “ adding “Mouj Masti” is the film in which he is trying to bring out the changing lives of Jammu in a very humourous manner.
