Katra, September 10

The passenger ropeway project at the Vaishno Devi shrine is likely to start on October 10. With the start of the ropeway, pilgrims will be able to pay obeisance at Bhaironji Temple, which is difficult to visit, particularly for the elderly and specially abled pilgrims.

The ropeway to the cave shrine in the Trikuta hills of Reasi district is ready for commissioning.

Anshul Garg, additional chief executive officer of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, said the ropeway was likely to start functioning from October 10 (first Navratra).

“The Bhawan-Bhairon Ghati passenger ropeway project is almost complete and trials are being conducted since May,” he said.
