Volleyball National School Games begin

JAMMU: More than 500 spikers from different states and union territories across the country will vie for top honours in the five-day 65th National School Games U-17 Boys Volleyball Championship commencing tomorrow at Khel Gaon, Nagrota.

More than 500 spikers from different states and union territories across the country will vie for top honours in the five-day 65th National School Games U-17 Boys Volleyball Championship commencing tomorrow at Khel Gaon, Nagrota.

Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman, Director General (DG), Youth Services and Sports, while briefing the media today said the playing venue would prove a game changer for sports in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The DG said efforts were on to make Khel Gaon hub of sports in the UT.

He further said events like 65th National School Games in the discipline of volleyball would go a long way in establishing the sports facility and making it anl asset in sports. Rehman also informed that spikers from from 16 states had already reached here for participation. The Adviser to J&K L-G, Farooq Khan, will inaugurate the event.
