Despite passage of four days, the police have no whereabouts of three missing girls, who left their houses for school on Thursday morning. The police claimed that they had got information about the girls and soon, they would recover them and hand over to their family members.
Kin of the girls on Monday met SSP Nanak Singh and requested the police to recover the girls as early as possible. Fathers of the three girls, along with their relatives and other persons, were present in the meeting.
SSP Dr Nanak Singh said: “On November 17, the police got information about the girls. We sent teams to trace them, but at the last moment, the girls came to know about our operation and we failed to recover them.” Further, he said at various locations, police team, headed by SP (city) and other senior officials, are searching the girls. The SSP also claimed that girls were in constant touch with a few people, who were informing the girls of police’s attempts to trace them.
He also stated that one of the girls was in contact with her brother. The police had also interrogated him and succeeded in obtaining useful information, he said. The SSP stated that girls had left the house by their choice and there was no kidnapping or abduction involved.
