Patiala, June 26

Various Leftist unions held a convention here at Taraksheel Hall to mark the 42nd anniversary of the Emergency as Anti-fascism Day. Members of the Lok Sangharsh Committee, Inqlabi Lok Morcha, Jamhoori Adhikar Sabha, and Technical Services Union also held a protest rally from Tarasheel Hall to the local railway station.

Lok Sangrash Committee's leader Ravinder Patiala alleged that the Narendra Modi-led Union Government was regularly trying to subdue the voice of minorities, farmers, labourers, Dalits, tribals and students on the account of sedition charges. He said the Modi government was working on the directions of the RSS.

Inqlabi Lok Morcha leader Satwant Wazidpur said natural resources of the country were being looted by some Indian and foreign companies.
