‘If you know your attitude, you define your own style’

Chandigarh-boy Phrabhjeet Garcha has a Punjabi film in his kitty and is busy shooting for his second short film as a lead. It all began with participating in a modelling competition in college and some other modelling assignments that made him realise he wanted to pursue acting as a career.

The first assignment

I started modelling during my college days. I participated in modelling competitions at various colleges and universities and won Mr. Goonj 2K15 in UIET, Panjab University and Mr. Panache 2K16 in GGDSD College, Sector 32. After that I got my first assignment with a short film Bohnee under the banner of White Hills Production.

Most interesting shoot

All the shoots are great because each shoot has different locations, different costumes as well as varying makeup patterns, but the most interesting shoot was for my film, Life-A Diary with One Page, because I had to shoot at four locations in one day and I had to run in each shot. This film has won the best film in Drishyam-National Theatre and Dance Fest in Panjab University and was also awarded with the best film in PEC Film Festival.

My designer would be

Manish Malhotra without a doubt. I wore a similar pathani coat and dhoti pyjama combination which he designed for Ranbir Kapoor in Shabana Azmi’s charity show Mizwan at the modelling event Panache 2k16 in which I bagged the Mr. Panache title.

If not modelling, then…

Then I would become an anchor. I have already hosted all the star nights of major fests of Panjab University, including Jhankar, Agaaz, Goonj, Scitron as well as TEDx Panjab University. I also got a chance to host the living legend Gurdas Maan’s show in the Trade Fair, Sector 34. I have anchored poetry events in tricity.

Current favourite style…

The look would be long hair with an imperial moustache and short beard. In clothes, it would be round neck t-shirt under a leather jacket with wayfarer sunglasses and jeans with sneakers.

A fashion tip for youngsters…

Wear clothes that match your body type, something in which you are comfortable. I firmly believe that if you know your attitude, you define your own style.

Your daily routine…

I wake up in the morning and go to the gym for an hour. Then I go to work and in the evening I go for a walk. Evenings are about watching movies or working on my comedy series Lowers, for my YouTube channel.

To a formal dinner you’ll wear…

A check shirt with slim-fit trousers and loafers.

Must haves in your wardrobe…

Kurta pyjama and shirts, t-shirts in all colours. A pair of blue jeans and black trousers is essential too.

In casuals, your pick would be…

Blue jeans with round neck plain t-shirt complemented with denim shoes.

Your favourite movie…

Padmavat because I loved the performance of Ranveer Singh and the costumes of each character in the film were very impressive.

You aspire to be…

An actor. Acting is an art that has no boundaries and an actor gets to explore various dimensions of the character during the course of the role he/she is portraying, which excites me. I have done a supporting role in a Punjabi film to be released soon.
