Comedian Kapil Sharma faces the heat for supporting Punjab minister Navjot Singh Sidhu on his comments on the Pulwama terror attack.

People on Twitter demanded that Sidhu be removed from ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’.

To this Kapil replied: “Sacking him (Sidhu) is no solution.”

"Sidhu is busy with prior commitments due to which Archana Puran Singh is shooting with us. These are very small things, or can also be a part of propaganda. I feel banning someone or sacking Sidhu from the show is no solution. We need to look for a permanent solution," Kapil told Zee News.

Talking about the Pulwama attack, Kapil said he is with the government. "We are with the government but need a permanent solution. The cowardly act in Pulwama that killed our soldiers shouldn't be forgotten and the culprits should be punished," he added.

Clarifying Sidhu’s statement on the Pulwama terror attack, Sharma said on Monday: “Sidhu did not support Pakistan by saying that we cannot blame the nation for the dastardly act, what he said was that terrorism has no nation”.

After hearing Kapil’s views on the subject, social media started a new campaign: #BoycottKapilSharma.

Twitter reactions:

One tweet read: “After we #boycottkapilsharma, Pakistani terrorists would be laughing, seeing how we've boycotted our brains as well.”

Another said: “Why should we need to trend #BoycottKapilSharma ? Why do we even watch such low level comedy in the first place?”.

One fan said: “#BoycottKapilSharma for talking sense. How can someone talk sense in a country full of andh bhakts?”.

Another tweet read: “Not expected this from u @KapilSharmaK9. U supported the anti nationalist @sherryontopp. This country and its people only have made u the star from a zero, & u r not respecting those people & that nation. Shameful!! #boycottkapilsharma @TajinderBagga @rohit_chahal @SonyTV”.

Multiple reports say Sidhu may have been sacked from ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’. He, however, said that he had no official confirmation about his removal from the show.

Archana Puran Singh, who appears as a special guest on the show, has denied replacing Sidhu permanently saying she has shot only two episodes.
