There are umpteen late night food delivery options for those who work the graveyard shift, stay up late for midnight gossip sessions with friends or binge watch soap operas and films on Amazon Prime or Netflix. Among the most sought-after names for the same is The Night Factory. Serving Indian, continental and Chinese cuisine, this place has been in business for four years now and has witnessed constant growth. “Our hot-sellers are biryani, kathi rolls, murgh kalimirch and soya chaap. With the increase in demand for late night food, we have launched an app and website for the convenience of our customers,” says Akhil Bansal, the owner. Another leader in the business is Food@U. This multi-cuisine outlet in Industrial Area, Chandigarh operates for 20 hours (8am-4am). Paneer naan with gravy, butter chicken, dal makhani, banoffee pie and cheesecakes have been top rated on its menu. “In the two years of our business, we partners have realised there is a huge potential in this city. Most of our customers are youngsters or working couples,” shares Ashank Arora, a co-owner. Food@U has been applauded for its high-hygiene standards and recently won the CAFR award as the best take away and late night delivery outlet. 

The night food delivery industry is expanding by the day it seems. Cafe Nightout is a few months old and has its hands full. “We work from 7pm till 4am and thankfully, so far, we have been getting enough orders to know this venture would last long. We are the only one in the city with a drive-in facility,” tells Chiranshu Rattan, the owner. Cafe Nightout has a huge demand for its nutella shake, white sauce pasta and homemade bread halwa prepared in desi ghee.

Another player to have joined the bandwagon is Pacman Delivery that has started its outlet a week back in Industrial Area, Phase 2, Chandigarh. It’s an initiative of two boys in their early 20s and serves Indian, Chinese and continental food between 7pm and 4am. “During out university days we would go around in the city at late night and found out that there was a huge demand for food at any given hour of the day. That motivated us to step in this business.”

Talk of food and there are all kinds of cuisine being served. Daak Kitchen and Zaferoon are known for Mughlai, Lucknowi and North India cuisine, Curry’s and Sundown Chef for fast food and Indian cuisine. Then there is Bhukkad By Nature, Midnight Chef, Plated, Captain Toms, Hungroo, Chandigarh Flavours and many more. With so many options, one can filter out restaurant based on the cuisine served. Going by the online and app reviews, the food at most of these places is pure bliss and the pricing is fair (on an average, food for two can be bought at Rs 600-700) and the quantity has your eyes twinkling every single time.
