Akshay Kumar with the team of Mission Mangal

R Balki’s Mission Mangal is based on India’s mission to Mars, which was launched by ISRO and their team of scientists. The great thing about the mission was the fact that the women scientists played a dominant role in the successful launch. Now, in Mission Mangal, Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Nithya Menen, Sharman Joshi and Kirti Kulhari will be seen playing ISRO scientists.

Akshay posted the photo on Instagram and actor captioned it as, “Be it making a home or launching a successful space mission, women know it all! Celebrating the power of women scientists: #MissionMangal is their story!” Akshay has maintained that the story of India’s mission to Mars is the tale of women scientists of the country.
