The Lion King
Disney studio's latest venture The Lion King, headlined by Donald Glover, James Earl Jones and Beyonce is a photorealistic computer-animated retelling of the classic story of Simba from the original 1994 film. The movie's appeal was further heightened by casting father-son duo—Shahrukh and Aryan Khan—for the film's Hindi dub.
Visually stunning
Having been a long-time of fan of the series, we came in with a lot of expectations. The film's visuals and effects were breathtaking and they were enhanced by the 4D experience. — Parisa and Adesh, students
Kudos to father son
I was very excited for the film's Hindi dub as I am big fan of Shahrukh Khan. His voice was mesmerising and Aryan did a great job in the role of Simba as well. — Neha, employee, PGI
High on humour
The movie does full justice to the original story and characters; it also fleshed them out even further. I especially enjoyed the scenes with Nala (Beyonce was simply brilliant) and the humour from Timon and Pumba. — Garima, employee, IT Park
Ardaas Karaan
Ardaas Karaan has Gippy Grewal and Japji Khaira in prominent roles. It delves into the importance of instilling family values, while also taking stand on real-life crisis having existential overtones. It’s also directed by Gippy Grewal.
Realism at its best
The film talks about issues that our elder generation faces today. It is a very real portrayal of today's modern family setting and offers a lot of lessons for the younger generation. — Dalveer Singh, agriculturist, Ludhiana.
A spirited film
The film is very uplifting and talks about living life at its fullest even in the face of adversity. Performances were great, Gurpreet Guggi was especially impressive. — Nisha, B Com student, Hoshiarpur
Bit stretched
It was a well-intentioned film, which offered interesting insight into today's Punjabi family, representing many living in foreign countries. However, I felt that it was a little stretched. The director could have cut 15-20 minutes. — Gurpreet Kaur, student, PU
