Tell us about the new track coming on the show.
The new track which is coming on the show is really exciting. The entire story is changing; we have shot the major chunk of the new track in Bangkok.
Please share details about your character.
Kanak Rathi is modern yet rooted, carefree yet determined, independent but puts family first. She reminds you a bit of both her parents. Kanak has her own unique traits, which will be interesting for audiences to watch and will be unveiled as the show progresses.
How exciting was it to shoot in Bangkok?
It was great fun in Bangkok. We explored many places like walking street in Pattaya, which is very famous there. Then we shot at beaches and floating markets. People there are really nice and warm and it made the experience even better. The food too is very interesting. I shopped for my family and friends.
What is your disguised look and why?
Audience will see Kanak in a blonde look and as per the track Uma does not have a passport and Kanak helps him to get to Bangkok without a passport. Kanak will be seen as Diana and Uma as a sardar named Harpreet. They change their look to trap and expose masi.
Is your role inspired by any Bollywood actor?
In the past I have done few sequences that were inspired by Bollywood actors. For instance, recently one of my sequences was inspired by Kangana in Tanu Weds Manu, where I danced on Ghani Bawri. My new avatar of Diana is totally original. It is not inspired by anyone and we have done some 10-11 look tests before finalizing this one. And I really hope our audience likes it.
You debuted on silver screen with M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story. How was the experience?
It was a really wonderful experience for me. I would like to do challenging roles in films.
What are the other projects that you are working on?
I am privileged to play a pivotal role in Tu Sooraj Main Saanjh Piyaji and currently my entire focus is only on this show.
What’s your take on web series?
Web series are finite and less dramatic. They mainly deal with real-life situations.
