Of politics and surgical strikes

The Accidental Prime Minister

When the film is based on a memoir by a former political advisor to a former Prime Minister, it’s sure to be controversial, politicised and entertaining. The Accidental Prime Minister is based on Sajaya Baru’s book by the same name and stars Anupam Kher as Manmohan Singh, Suzanne Bernert as Sonia Gandhi and Akshay Khanna as Sanjaya Baru. The film has been produced by Bohra Bros.

Not even entertaining

We thought it’d be entertaining but unfortunately it’s not ... what can be more entertaining than the drama inspired by real life? But this film doesn’t quite do justice.

Lacks content

We expected many more revelations and scandals about the dynasty politics to tumble out but this film somehow lacks content.

From PM’s perspective

It’s a good film, especially if you are not politically biased. It also shows the perspective of the Prime Minister who did come back for a second term.

URI: The Surgical Strike

The action film is inspired by true events of 2016 when the Indian Army avenges the deadly terrorist attack with a surgical strike in Pakistan occupied Kashmir. Written and directed by debutant Aditya Dhar and produced by Ronnie Screwvala, the film stars Vicky Kaushal, Paresh Rawal, Mohit Raina and Yami Gautam in pivotal roles.

For the love of Army

If you love the Indian Army, you must watch this film. It instills one with patriotism but not in over the top way but in subtle more effective ways.
Kanika Bharadwaj, teacher

Highly entertaining

The fact that it’s inspired by true events and is based on the Indian Army itself makes it a highly entertaining film. Must watch for youngsters.
Bharat Monga, bank employee

Well made

A must watch. Great research has gone into the film and also the performance by Vicky Kaushal is impeccable. He nails it.
