Anushka Sharma is seen sans make-up in simple printed sarees and hair tied in a loose bun in her upcoming film, Sui Dhaaga, opposite Varun Dhawan. One can literally not spot the difference between her and the other village women.

Rooting for the simple 

The look of Love Sonia shows actress Mrunal Thakur as Sonia, a village girl who is tricked into prostitution. As per the film’s theme, the look portrays Mrunal looking earthy, simple, no makeup and anxiously wondering what lies ahead in life.

No prosthetics please 

Actress Rasika Dugal, who essays Safia Manto in Nandita Das’ directorial Manto, needed no make-up or prosthetics for her portrayal. She had to look as real as possible on screen.

True blue vegetable vendor 

Adah Sharma went dusky to look like a sabji wali for her upcoming Hollywood project. As per the requirement of her character, Adah had to go all de-glamorous. She can be seen in a simple saree and with a tensed look on her face, with no makeup and messy hair. 

Southern sensation

Richa Chadha will be seen playing the titular role of Shakeela in the biopic directed by Indrajit Lankesh. Dressed in a traditional Kerala saree called Kasavu Pattu, the actress looked beautiful in her first look as Shakeela. Contrary to expectations, she won’t have a glam avatar.

Straight from the slums

Paoli Dam recently portrayed the role of an 8-year-old boys’ mother in  Halkaa. The family was shown living in the slums and Paoli had to go completely de-glam. She didn’t  shampoo her hair for days to get a rough texture and neither did she do her eyebrows.
