Actor Mrinal Dutt likes deep-sea diving and eating chocolates in equal measure

Actor Mrinal Dutt, who was recently seen opposite Richa Chadda in Arati Kadav’s sci-fi 55 Km/Sec, is essaying a homosexual character in his latest project, His Story. Here’s getting to know the person behind the artiste.

n You recently binge-watched?

Nicole Kidman’s The Undoing and I saw a film called Malcolm & Marie.

n Your all-time favourite series?

The show I really liked was I May Destroy You on Hotstar. It’s amazing, I just loved it.

n Your all-time favourite movie?

There are many, most are classics. I really like Marion Cotillard’s La Vie en Rose, and Biutiful by Alejandro González Iñárritu.

n If you were left alone on an island, who is the one person you would want to be with?

I think Marian Cotillard. I’m fascinated by her and I would sit and talk to her about every character she has played.

n And what would you do if you were all by yourself on the island?

I would, maybe, do deep-sea diving. I deep-sea dived two years back for the first time and I fell in love with it.

n Twitter vs Instagram?

I love Instagram more as it has more to do with pictures. Twitter is pretty much to voice your opinion briefly.

n Dog or cat person?

I am definitely a dog person, but I don’t mind cats too.

n How many pairs of clothes and shoes do you have?

I don’t have so many clothes but whatever I have is good quality stuff. I really like shoes and sunglasses. I keep my eyes open for good shoes and even boots. I am not brand conscious at all.

n A secret that your readers will know today?

When I was in school, I used to sneak out of my house at night and do all sorts of things. Everything that a teenager does. Also, on some nights I would even take out our car from the garage and stay out all night.

n In your fridge, we’ll find?

You will find chocolates all the time. I have a sweet tooth, so you can be ready for a treat whenever you open my fridge.

n To your trolls, what do you want to say?

I want to say keep them coming. You encourage me to get better at my craft. People who wish you well, they make you feel nice about yourself but trolls are interesting in their own way. They come up with the most bizarre, funny and weird things, and you never know which one ends up becoming an inspiration.

n An unfounded fear?

Losing my mind. Basically, to stop making sense of things, not dealing with life the way I should.

n A lie you often tell?

That I am really good.

n Favourite holiday destination and why?

I don’t have a favourite destination, I am still exploring. Berlin is a place I really love. I would love to visit it again.
