Armaan Ralhan

After a great debut in Befikre, you were not seen much on screen. What kept you busy?

After Befikre, I was getting similar offers, which I felt were not right for me. I spent the time honing my craft and then eventually Ajeeb Daastaans came my way.

You had a dream debut with YRF. What was your learning from Aditya Chopra?

Working with Adi sir was of course a dream come true, as it would be for many actors. It was a great learning curve. From him, I learnt how to stay in the moment while performing.

Talking about your latest release, what prompted you to act in Shoorveer?

The world Samar and Kanishk wanted to create, and my character, Viraj, are amazing. It was a great opportunity.

How did you prepare for the role of an Air Force officer?

For the role, I lost around 10 kilos. The other part of the preparation was a lot of fun, so I can’t say I found it challenging. Learning about the lives of pilots was an absolute pleasure.

Any memorable experience from the shooting that you want to share with our readers?

The most memorable experience for me was getting to sit in fighter jets. That is an experience I will probably tell my grandchildren someday.

Whom do you consider your role models?

Marlon Brando and Amitabh Bachchan.

You are a football player too; how much importance do you give to fitness?

I give a lot of importance to fitness, but it is very important to enjoy what I do, so I try to mix things up.

What kind of genre do you want to explore as an actor?

As an actor I want to explore all genres. Romance, action, thriller and comedy. A genre, I may be hesitant to dabble with is horror.

What are the major changes you have noticed in the industry over the years?

Thanks to OTT, I think there are a lot more opportunities for creative people and a lot more options for the audiences, which is a win-win scenario.

One series which you have watched again and again?

The Office featuring Steve Carell.
