B-town supports #9PM9Minutes

On Sunday, the nation observed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘9 pm 9 minutes’ initiative of lighting diyas and Bollywood wasn’t behind! Celebrities showed their support as they switched off lights in their homes and came to their balconies with diyas as well as candles. It was a symbolic gesture of the country’s ‘collective resolve’ to defeat the coronavirus pandemic. Celebs, including Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli, Katrina Kaif, Akshay Kumar, Kapil Sharma, Kangana Ranaut, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, among others, joined the initiative.

Akshay shared a photo where he can be seen lighting up a diya, making a reference to the dark days due to coronavirus pandemic and how we will eventually emerge victorious. Kangana joined her entire family in Manali, as they lit up the diyas. Anushka took to Instagram and captioned her image as, “I light a diya every day for many years now. And as I light the diya I seek guidance, asking for the darkness in me to be dispelled.” Kartik Aaryan shared a picture and wrote, “Together, Everything is Possible.”

Big B was seen pointing a torch to the sky. This marks the second initiative by Prime Minister as before this, the nation had earlier appreciated the efforts of the medical stuff by applauding while standing in their balconies.
