Yeh trophy meri hai, aur main is trophy ka Karan Veer Mehra… the Bigg Boss 18 winner said loud and clear after a star-studded finale on Sunday.

The actor got into Bigg Boss house soon after winning another major reality show, Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 14. He claims to have entered the show sans any agenda, but found one soon enough. “In life we have Plan A and Plan B, but we only have one planet. Soon I realised and tried to ensure that no water, food or gas was wasted. I tried to teach and to a large extent was also successful in it. Many go with the basics, if we have it, we mustn’t waste it,” shared a jubilant Karan Veer Mehra.

The win is yet to sink in and Mehra demands a few days to share how he feels about it, but he is smug enough to say that he always knew that he was going to win. “When I entered they introduced Vivian (Dsena) as the laadla of the house. No such claims were made for me, so that gave me direction first up.”

That said, the finale did make him anxious. “Salman sir has this habit of taking one’s hand up and then down, I was so nervous that I even asked Vivian adha adha kar lein.”

Actor Vivian Dsena was the first runners-up. YouTuber Rajal Dalal, a controversial fitness influencer, ended up in the third spot while the fourth and fifth places were won by TV actor Avinash Singh and model Chum Darang, respectively. A total of 23 contestants were part of the Bigg Boss 18 journey.

No foes, no regrets

Over a hundred days locked up in the house, no phone but each other to speak to, and tasks that were simple, Mehra comes out without any foes or regrets. While he makes sure to convey that Chum Darang and Shilpa Shirodka made a special place in his heart, he was friendly with everyone. “Family is given, friends we choose. Chum and Shilpa ji were as happy as I when I lifted the trophy. I have had fun inside the house and you will see all of them partying with me.”

One thing he wishedhe could havedone was the chai patti task. “Had I just done it, things would have been different, or I could have just conveyed that I was angry, but what’s done is done. As I say, I do not make mistakes, mistakes have made me!”

Yet to collect Rs 50 lakh as prize money, Mehra revealed that he was yet to even take the cheque he won for Khatron Ke Khiladi. “I fund my staff’s kids’ education. I am already doing it, some of them really want to pursue further education, so I hope to provide them funds.”

Surprise, surprise!

Veer Pahariya, who is debuting in Hindi cinema with his role in Sky Force, dropped the first shocking elimination, leaving the finalists reeling. Right after, Salman Khan welcomed the old and new rookie chefs from the upcoming second season of Laughter Chefs Unlimited Entertainment. The crescendo of surprises hit a new high as Aamir Khan made an appearance, stepping in to support his son Junaid’s film. The two Khans brought the house down by reviving their iconic banter from Andaz Apna Apna.
