As singer Dhvani Bhanushali is all kicked about her recent outing Radha, and compliments that the song is garnering, she is also staring at being cooped up again, as another lockdown is in place due to the pandemic.

We catch the young singer, all chirpy and perky, as her single Vaaste, that took her to the Global List of Fastest 1 Billion Views, turns two. “Vaaste changed it all for me. I was nobody. But after that people recognised me as I stepped out, stopped me for pictures,” says Dhvani who loves all the attention that comes with fame, be it in real or virtual world. “I love interacting with my followers, I just spent the morning with a fan group online, I totally enjoy all this attention.”

With songs like Veere from Veere Di Wedding, Ishtehaar from Welcome To New York and Ishare Tere with Guru Randhawa to her credit, Radha is Dhavni’s latest number. It’s composed by Abhijit Vaghani, lyrics are penned by Kunaal Vermaa and the video is directed by Karan Kapadia.

Released on March 22, it has already garnered 30 million views, and counting. Do numbers matter to her? “Well, they do. More than that what matters are the compliments that come with it. Radha is being appreciated for its sound and video and that makes me happy.”

As the lockdown puts everyone back to square one in Mumbai, Dhvani is dejected, “But people are still out without masks, still spitting on the road, how can we ever get over the pandemic?” she asks hoping somehow we can all leave Covid behind and return back to normal. “As soon as that happens, I would be the first one to have a live concert, for that’s what I enjoy the most.”

Meanwhile, she is tripping on Himani Kapoor’s Thode Kam Ajnabi from Pagglait. Till it’s back to normal, she is open to whatever comes her way. “For the second wave and the lockdown, I am better prepared mentally and emotionally stable. The first time around, we just didn’t know what hit us.”
