Filmmaker Vishal Furia has made a name for himself in the horror-thriller genre with his unique storytelling. With Chhorii having gained significant attention and acclaim, the anticipation around Chhorii 2 is at an all-time high. As he gears up for its release on April 11 on Amazon Prime Video, Furia sheds light on the casting process of the lead actress Nushrratt Bharuccha and the intriguing choice of Soha Ali Khan as the film’s antagonist. Furia, who directed Chhorii in 2021, had no doubts about bringing back Nushrratt for the sequel. “This was my second time working with Nushrratt. She is an extremely collaborative actor to work with. She surrenders herself to the film’s world and to the director’s vision.” While the decision to bring back Nushrratt was a given, casting for the film’s antagonist, Daasi, was a far more complex process. Furia reveals that it was producer Vikram Malhotra who was the first to suggest the name of Soha Ali Khan for the role and the idea immediately struck a chord with him.
