FIR filed against Amitabh Bachchan and makers of KBC for hurting religious sentiments

Kaun Banega Crorepati and its superstar host, Amitabh Bachchan, have landed in legal trouble. In a recent episode, Big B was joined by social activist Bezwada Wilson and actor Anup Soni. While playing, Amitabh Bachchan asked Bezwada and Anup, “On December 25, 1927, Dr BR Ambedkar and his followers burnt copies of which scripture?” Options for an answer were Vishnu Purana, Bhagavad Gita, Rig Veda and Manusmriti.

After the question was answered, to provide some insight, Big B said, “In 1927, Dr BR Ambedkar condemned the ancient Hindu text Manusmriti to ideologically justify caste discrimination and untouchability, and he also burnt copies of it.”

However, despite the fact that this is a legitimate part of Indian history and not made up by the makers of KBC, an FIR was filed against Amitabh Bachchan as well as KBC makers in Lucknow for hurting Hindu sentiments.

Meanwhile, filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri accused the show-makers of spreading ‘Leftist’ propaganda.
