Fitness funda

It’s as much a part of my life as breathing or sleeping. I have been on the chubbier side always, so I have to be on guard all the time. But I take it all in my stride.

Eat right

I am conscious about what I eat. Not just because I am a part of the glamour world but also eating right ensures a fit body, healthy hair and glowing skin. I steer clear of junk.

Varied exercise regimen

I am a gym person. Each day I exercise in the noon without fail. However, I vary my workouts. I loved Pilates for a while; these days I am on EMS (electrical muscle stimulation). Earlier I used to do yoga. Variation keeps one interested and motivated through it all.

Meals and more

I start my day with warm water and lemon juice, nuts follow. Breakfast is egg/oats or a toast. Lunch is salad, sabji and roti. I love experimenting with different kinds of flours and I am enjoying ragi at the moment. Tea time comes with roasted makhanas or digestive biscuits. Dinner is super early and largely chicken or fish, I try avoiding carbs at late hours.

Can’t do without

I am a tea-holic like any other Himachali. Six- seven cups a day is usual.

Sweet cravings

Yes, along with tea I have a sweet tooth too. Red velvet cake, rasmalai, halwa, chilu, gulgule—name a sweet and I want to have it, but usually I resist. I have told my mother that we would have halwa only on Sundays now.

Cheat meals

Every once in a while. I am rather conscious on cheat days too. I am good with roasted chicken too. Parantha with malai is my super indulgence. But if one could eat without gaining weight, I would gorge on Chinese meals, pasta, lacha paranthas with dal makhani.

Star motivation

I am a huge admirer of Jennifer Lopez. So fit at her age, she is an inspiration for everyone. Shakira and Lopez’s age-defying fitness levels are super motivating.

Hack that works

Switching sugar in tea with stevia. As I have 6-7 cups of tea a day, I try to have my morning and evening tea with sugar and rest with stevia, it sure seems to work.
