Robert Pattinson talks about Nolan’s Tenet

Robert Pattinson says his new film, Tenet, is incredibly complex as well as ambitious, and says the much-awaited Christopher Nolan-directorial shows the true possibilities of the cinema.

“It’s incredibly ambitious and incredibly complex. I mean no one makes movies like Chris in the first place, and this is kind of Chris Nolan on steroids with all of the new technology within the IMAX cameras, which were designed especially for this movie. I can’t really imagine not seeing it in a theatre,” Pattinson said.

Tenet was originally scheduled to release in July, but was postponed several times over the course of the year due to the ongoing pandemic. Through the delays, Nolan was always sure about releasing the film on the big screen.

Big screen

Pattinson insists Tenet must be watched on the big screen. “With people who haven’t had the ability to go to the cinemas for months, having this to look forward to will be a really great thing. I think it shows what all is possible in cinema. I mean Chris really wants to push the limits of what you can do on film with almost zero visual effects. It’s a very immersive experience and nothing really captures that more than seeing it on the biggest possible screen,” he added.

Dubbed as ‘an action epic evolving from the world of international espionage’, Nolan’s new film takes one on a thrilling time-bending mission with two secret agents, essayed by Pattinson and John David Washington.

The Warner Bros. Pictures project also features Bollywood’s Dimple Kapadia, along with Elizabeth Debicki, Kenneth Branagh, Michael Caine, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Clemence Poesy. The film has been shot across seven countries — India, the US, the UK, Denmark, Estonia, Italy and Norway. — IANS

‘No time to bond’

Veteran Bollywood actress Dimple Kapadia says there is no time to bond while working on the sets of Christopher Nolan film Tenet. “It is Nolan’s set. You don’t bond here, you work here; you just work. There are early calls, like 4 am, and finish work. There is non-stop hard work. By the time you are done, you are ready to collapse,” she added. In the film, Dimple is seen as Priya, who is crucial to the narrative. Her character emerges as a deadly person, splashed with various shades of grey. Talking about her own experience, she said: “When I was working, I became the baby of the sets. I don’t know why. They took care of me. There was a lot of love and affection and care.” The film is scheduled to release in India on December 4. It will be available to the Indian audience in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages.
