Your show Dadi Amma…went off air recently. Did you expect it?
The show was a limited series with 100 episodes and the TRPs were decent. I would have loved if the show did run its due course.
An actor’s life is uncertain. Your take?
I agree. And this phase has taught me that we should save. Since we get paid for the days we shoot, this is actually a testing time for many people.
Are you auditioning for shows?
Yes, I am auditioning right now. I record my auditions from home and send them to production houses.
What defines a good character?
Any character can be good if you do your job well and people like you.
Would you like to explore the web space?
I would like to explore all mediums if the show and character suit my profile.
Do you think TV gets monotonous at some point?
I don’t think TV is monotonous. The audience needs to give a chance to shows which are different and have a unique concept.
What is your take on the 90-day-payment mode?
We get paid after 90 days once the show is on air. It gets really difficult for us to make sure we have surplus funds. Also, since we need to look good on screen, there is a fixed amount we have to spend on grooming.
What would be the first thing you would do once the lockdown is over?
I would still be under home quarantine because I want to be sure that there is no danger. Once everything is fine and settled, I would meet my friends!
How is quarantine treating you?
I am using this quarantine for productive things. I am spending enough time with my family, helping my mother in household work, watching news and reading books. I am reading world history!
