Several reports of violence against doctors from different parts of the country have been reported in the recent times. A case of a young doctor from Assam being brutally beaten by relatives and friends of a patient who passed away shook people to their very core. Celebrities have condemned the attacks on doctors with Varun Dhawan recently going live on Instagram to address the issue.

During the session on Saturday, Varun spoke about the issue with orthopaedist Dr Manan Vora. “It’s an extremely serious issue and we really need to create awareness on this topic. The second wave has not been easy on anyone, I’ve had at least seven family members who got Covid-19 during this phase and it’s very stressful for the family. So, I understand when it happens, but it is unfair on doctors who are treating you to go through this,” said Varun. He also spoke about the death of his aunt, who was on ventilator for over a month.
