On the second day of the Monsoon Session in Parliament, MP and actress Jaya Bachchan spoke about an alleged ‘conspiracy to defame the film industry’. Without naming anyone, Jaya said, “People who made their names in the industry have called it a gutter. I completely disagree.” While celebs, including Richa Chadha, Taapsee Pannu and Sonam Kapoor, applauded Jaya’s speech, Kangana Ranaut hit back at her.
Kangana asked Jaya if she’d maintain her stance if her children — Shweta and Abhishek Bachchan — were the ones affected instead. Kangana tweeted, “Jaya ji would you say the same thing if in my place it was your daughter Shweta beaten, drugged and molested as a teenager, would you say the same thing if Abhieshek complained about bullying and harassment constantly and was found hanging one day? Show compassion for us also.”
