There’s no boundary a grieving father wouldn’t cross to find answers about his child’s death, and actor Sachin Khedekar is on a similar quest in his next crime thriller titled Halahal. This Eros Now original also stars actor Barun Sobti. The two of them, although make an odd pair (a corrupt policeman and a doctor), they complement each other as far as the trailer goes.

Inspired by true events, Sachin says about the film, “The story led me to shoot in the interiors of Uttar Pradesh and to pass off as a North Indian was a challenge for me. I have done Gujarati and South Indian movies besides many Marathi films. But this is for the first time I played a North Indian character.”

The young energy was infectious and now he is looking forward to be a part of more such shows on OTT. He says, “From co-actors on the sets to director Randeep Jha to writer Zeishan Qadri, the youthful energy pushed me to do better as well. The best part is they don’t come to the sets with a pre-conceived notion like ‘Oh I am big and I know everything’. They are willing to learn and so should we at all times. There’s a lot of unlearning one has to do to try out any new medium. For instance, when I started as a theatre artiste, I was on my own on stage and could use that space, but to perform in front of the camera is a different game. There are technical aspects to it.”

Sachin was earlier seen in Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose: The Forgotten Hero. For the lockdown, he stayed in Mumbai and spent the time reading books and watching digital shows.

Shot last year, Halahal will air on September 21 and Sachin hopes to get similar roles that would help him push his boundaries as an actor. Sachin liked the way his character was portrayed. The character has an emotional side to it which audience will be able to relate to.

While thrillers have become a favourite genre for OTT, Sachin feels it is not biased to any particular genre. He hails the platform for bringing in fresh content. Ask him if his character Dr Shiv would get the answers about his daughter’s alleged suicide in the story and his lips are sealed. For those answers, one has to watch the film.
