10 trains cancelled, lone flight delayed by 3 hrs

LUDHIANA: The weather gods continued with their fury on rail passengers and air travelers on Sunday as the Railways cancelled 10 trains, some two dozen odd long-route trains were running behind schedule and the lone Air India flight between Delhi and Ludhiana was delayed by more than three hours due to poor visibility.

The weather gods continued with their fury on rail passengers and air travelers on Sunday as the Railways cancelled 10 trains, some two dozen odd long-route trains were running behind schedule and the lone Air India flight between Delhi and Ludhiana was delayed by more than three hours due to poor visibility.

Railway officials said 12241/42 Chandigarh-Amritsar-Chandigarh Intercity Express, 15209/10 Saharsa-Amritsar-Saharsa Jansewa Express, 15707/08 Katihar-Amritsar-Katihar Amrapali Express, 14674 Amritsar-Jaynagar Shaheed Express, 19614 Amritsar-Ajmer Express and 22424 Amritsar-Gorakhpur Jansadhdran Express trains were cancelled for a day on Sunday.

The 9837/9838 Delhi-Ludhiana-Delhi Air India flight arrived at the Sahnewal airport more than three hours late. The aircraft, with 37 passengers on board, landed here at 11.05 am (scheduled time 8.15 am) and took off with 37 passengers at 11.50 am (scheduled at 8.45 am).

Further, 12926 Amritsar-Bandra Terminus Pashchim Express was rescheduled for late departure by 2.20 hours and four trains 12380 Amritsar-Sealdah Jallianwala Bagh, 12752 Jammu Tawi-Nanded Express, 22430 Pathankot-Delhi and 22552 Jalandhar City-Darbhanga Antyodaya Express were diverted via alternate route between Ludhiana and Ambala Cantt.

Trains running late

Around eight to 10 hours: 12925 Bandra Terminus-Amritsar Pashchim Express, 01707 Jabalpur-Attari Special Express.

Around three to six hours: 18507 Vishakhapatnam-Amritsar Hirakud Express, 15211 Darbhanga-Amritsar Jannayak Express, 18101 Tatanagar-Jammu Tawi Muri Express, 22431 Allahabad-Udhampur Superfast Express, 13307 Dhanbad-Firozepur Ganga Sutlej Express, 11057 CST Mumbai-Amritsar, 13005 Howrah-Amritsar Mail, 12237 Varanasi-Jammu Tawi Begumpura Express, 12355 Rajendra Nagar (Patna)-Jammu Tawi Archana Express, 01708 Attari-Jabalpur Special Express.

Around one to three hours: 14603 Saharsa-Amritsar Jansadhdran Express, 18237 Bilaspur-Amritsar Chhattisgarh Express, 12331 Howrah-Jammu Tawi Himgiri Express, 12926 Amritsar-Bandra Terminus Pashchim Express, 12919 Indore-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Malwa Express, 12357 Kolkata-Amritsar Durgiana Express, 13049 Howrah-Amritsar Express and 12715 Nanded-Amritsar Sachkhand Express.
